Landscape Oil Painting – 3 Weeks
Join us for three afternoons exploring the landscape in oils. With full tuition and demonstrations throughout, we’ll look at composition, colour, light, atmosphere and the qualities of the oil medium.
All paints, brushes, solvents, mediums and subject matter are provided. Just bring your own painting surface and a lidded glass jar for taking solvent home.

Course description
Landscape Oil Painting
Explore the possibilities of oil painting through three afternoons devoted to the landscape.
This practical, demonstration-led course is designed to help you develop your confidence and understanding of painting landscapes in oils. Over the three sessions we’ll explore different approaches to interpreting landscape, looking at composition, colour, light, atmosphere, depth and the qualities of the oil medium.
There will be plenty of full tuition, demonstrations and individual guidance throughout, with opportunities to experiment and develop your own approach to the subject.
You don’t need to bring a whole studio with you! All paints, brushes, solvents, mediums and landscape subject matter will be provided. You simply need to bring your own surface to paint on and a glass jar with a secure lid to take your used solvent home.
And, as always, there’ll be tea, coffee and biscuits available throughout the afternoon.
